Lufthansa will buy more Airbus A380

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG gave the green light to buy 12 more aircraft to meet the needs of the entire group. Will be purchased two Airbus A380, one A330-300s, four A320s and five E-195, the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer

"The moderate expansion of the Lufthansa fleet is mainly due to the need for the modernization and consolidation of the European fleet in the short term. Along with the aircraft already requested to be added to the fleet in coming years, we have more opportunities to respond selectively and flexibly fluctuations in demand or market changes, "said Christoph Franz, CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

The Airbus A380  in the short term will be used in long distance flights, and five E-jets will reinforce the company's regional operations. Deliveries will begin in 2012, and the investment is approximately 1.3 billion euros.
